Perils of Play

Having a child is one of the great experiences of life and protecting that child is a task that parents must be diligent. The world we live in can be full of dangers at times, not only from nature itself, but from those who would do harm to innocent children. This drawing depicts that danger. I used my son who was 10 years old at the time as the model and created an image that is full of dangers. The boy is just enjoying watching a frog in a pond just as most any child would do in their curiosity and adventuresome nature. He is oblivious of threats lurking around him. There is an alligator just under the water ready to strike. In the woods there is a wolf along with a sexual predator watching him. While in play there are perils that can be hazardous. As parents we must be alert concerning our children for we never know what might be watching to snatch them up or to take advantage or do harm to them.
