The Fox Run

Wildlife can be part of landscape drawings or paintings. I have viewed many different types of animals in my walks and runs through rural nature, mostly deer and coyotes. But occasionally I would see a fox darting along the tall grass. I decided to do a drawing that included one of these creatures. This artwork was done as a demonstration piece in front of a class. I did a number demonstration drawings and paintings in my 30 years of teaching art. Many were given away to students who wanted them, but this one was done for a special person in mind who loved foxes. Later, I decided to put it into print since I liked the softness of the pencil as compared to more harsh contrasts as one would see in an ink landscape drawing. This is a tribute to wildlife and how they make our world more interesting.
