Running along a country dirt road was peaceful and therapeutic for me. I lived in a very small town called Ochelata, Oklahoma.

Teaching school can be a fulfilling profession, but the low pay could cause many teachers to have to resort to work in the summer just to make ends meet.

Texas has a varied and beautiful array of landscapes. One such area or areas are the Big Bend region and the Guadalupe Mountains National Park.

Around 1980 I was reading a now defunct magazine by the name of "South African Panorama." One article was about the diamond mines in South Africa and the writing discussed the process of taking raw diamond chunks out of the mines and making them into highly polished gems.

During the early 2000s, I began to write, produce, and direct theatrical productions and did this for 15 years with more than 30 productions under my belt.

When I was a boy our family would travel from Amarillo, Texas to a small town called Elmer located in Southwest Oklahoma. It was a tradition to visit my grandparents there for the Thanksgiving holiday.

In the past, the reading of great classic novels was the only way stories could be enjoyed by people. Books were difficult to come by for the average person and to have a collection of books was usually only available to the more affluent.

This pencil drawing by me was done when I was just 17 years old. It is about the leisures of life represented by items put out on a table to take to a picnic on a Saturday morning. It is only one of four still-lifes that I ever created.

Many people, if not most people have experienced the bliss of a romantic relationship. These relationships can bring forth the feelings of euphoria and butterflies in the stomach.

Throughout the years from the 1980s to the present, I have done many small landscape ink drawings. These drawings were inspired by the landscape ink drawings of Vincent van Gogh in the 1880s.

Throughout the years I have created many ink landscape drawings, but this particular drawing is the only one that specifically refers to Amarillo. I have painted many winter scenes of the high plains, especially night scenes.

My ancestors came from Scotland and migrated to the United States just after the turn of century in the 1900s.
